Winter at Home: Rituals, Reads, and Little Luxuries

Winter is the season for slowing down and exploring routines that feel cozy and meaningful. Lately, I’ve been leaning on rituals, reads, and little luxuries that help me stay grounded, relaxed, and fully present. From wellness habits to current obsessions, these are the ways I’m making winter at home feel softer and more restorative.

This winter, I’m slowing down with things that feel comforting and engaging. Winter can feel long when sunlight is limited, so I make a point to create small, intentional moments that lift my mood. My TBR is stacked with immersive reads that I’m excited to dive into. Here's what I'm reading next:

  • The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern
  • Paris In Winter: An Illustrated Memoir, by David Coggins
  • Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley
  • Emma, by Jane Austen
  • The Princess Bride, by William Goldman

On Netflix, I’m on my second rewatch of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and can't get enough. The costumes, the drama, and the escapism are everything. But I’m also spending more time with physical media, creative projects, and calming rituals. Drawing, cooking new seasonal recipes, learning Italian, junk journaling, and diving into my magazine stack are all ways I like to pause, step away from my phone, and sink into immersive practices or longer-form media.

Winter wellness is all about layering care into your day, and it doesn't have to be complicated. Here are my essentials:

  • Vitamins: Iron (best absorbed with Vitamin C) and Vitamin D are non-negotiable. Magnesium is a major player for winter bedtime, and B12 keeps my energy levels steady. Another area I’ve focused on is hair health and skincare. Taking supplements like Lemme Grow and Lemme Glow has helped so much with hair growth and reduced shedding.
  • Tea rituals: Lemon & ginger tea while doing my morning skincare and listening to podcasts (personal recs: Aspire with Emma Grede, Ladies who Launch with Rochelle Humes, and Relationsh*t with Kamie Crawford) makes nourishment feel comforting. To wind down, I adore a cozy chai with almond milk, cinnamon, and honey. It’s the perfect little nighttime drink.
  • Skincare: Hydration is also key this time of year. After applying moisturizer, I follow up with shea butter or a body oil to lock in moisture. I also keep SPF in my winter skincare rotation, and I've linked my top picks on ShopMy. My favorite skincare and body care products are also linked on ShopMy if you want to see what’s in the mix. So, light a candle and turn your regular routine into a spa day with nourishing products.
  • Kitchen staples: Keep olive oil, root vegetables, fresh and dried herbs, beans, honey, whole grains, leafy greens, bone broth, and a little dark chocolate on hand. Meals at home aren’t just good for your body, it’s a small act of self-care you can count on, even on busy days. I like to plan a handful of recipes that are easy to rotate throughout the week. Some of my favorites right now include fried rice and suya chicken, honey garlic-glazed salmon with roasted veggies and chickpeas, or this lasagna soup recipe I found on TikTok when I want something indulgent.

Winter is the perfect time to slow down, explore little joys, and make space for the things that bring comfort and inspiration. Whether it’s a good book, a creative project, a home-cooked meal, or even a few self-care habits. These considered practices add up to a season that creates a sense of calm and comfort.
