Fashion month always leaves me with approximately a million new tabs open, an even longer list of things I want in my closet, and a camera roll that I fully intend to organize but probably never will. Between the collections I've been revisiting online and the stack of fall fashion issues I've been making my way through, all of it has me taking note of the trends, collections, and styling details I want to carry with me into the new season.
And while I enjoy keeping up with what's trending, some of my favorite inspiration comes from the details that make me stop scrolling in the first place. A fun print, an interesting silhouette, or even a collection that feels like stepping into another world. So, here are a few things that have made their way onto my ever-growing list of fashion obsessions.
If the weather and my recent saves are any indication, outerwear is going to have a very important role in my fall wardrobe. I've been loving Susanna Chow for this exact reason. Their playful, yet polished coats feel like the kind of pieces that can completely change the energy of an outfit. And don't even get me started on the suede and cashmere styles. They're an absolute dream, and the kind of coats that make me want to plan an entire outfit around them.
I've also been eyeing Carelli for their chic statement jackets. The Dolly Jacket, in particular, has been living in my head rent-free, and I genuinely need it in my closet, like, yesterday. I always appreciate finding pieces that feel a little unexpected but are still easy to style, and both brands have me thinking about outerwear as more than just the finishing touch. Sometimes, a really good coat is the outfit.
PatBO and RetrofĂȘte have also been on my mind for their own approaches to dressing with a little extra personality. With PatBO, I was drawn to their bold color story, soft tailoring, and all the fringe that made it on the runway. And RetrofĂȘte taps into a similarly fun side of fashion, but with its own maximalist after-dark sensibility.
Its Fall 2026 collection, which marked the brand's return to the NYFW runway, took inspiration from the interiors of old European hotels. I personally love that starting point because it speaks to something I find so interesting about fashion in the way a certain mood or place can translate into the clothes themselves.
Wes Gordon’s latest collection for Carolina Herrera was another standout for me. Presented for the house’s 45th anniversary, the collection celebrated its heritage through the polished femininity the brand does so well, with artful florals and signature polka dots on the runway. The runway itself was lined with nearly 30,000 yellow tulips, which feels like a pretty perfect representation of the whole experience: a little theatrical and unapologetically romantic.
Flipping through my latest issue of Harper's Bazaar has also given me another reason to revisit one of my forever favorites: the little black dress. The issue celebrates 100 years of the LBD, with a look at the dress's history and the reason it has remained such an enduring part of fashion. And honestly, I love that for her.
There are so many trends that come and go, but a really good little black dress will always have a place in my wardrobe. It's the kind of staple that you can dress up with a cute heel and jewelry for dinner, style with a leather jacket for a night out, or keep simple and let the silhouette do all the work. That's the beauty of it: there's no single way to wear one. And while I'm currently in a phase of wanting more playful pieces and a little extra drama in my wardrobe, I'll always make room for a classic. Sometimes the most exciting thing you can wear is the one piece you know you'll love every single time.
And lately I've been loving:
- the prize earrings from heaven mayhem
- plaid chiffon tops for fall (but also, this avec les filles lace trim maxi dress)
- suede coats and shoulder bags
- baby tees styled with tailored trousers
- this striped cardigan from H&M (will be worn on repeat idc)
- fringe detailing
- cuffed jeans
Beyond the shows and all the pieces I've been saving, I've been thinking about how I want to bring a little bit of that inspiration into my actual fall wardrobe. It's one thing to admire a collection on the runway, and another to figure out what that inspiration looks like when you're getting dressed on a random Tuesday. Maybe it's building an outfit around a coat instead of treating it as an afterthought, or trying a styling combination I wouldn't normally reach for, just because I saw it done in a way that made me reconsider it. And that's one of my favorite things about this time of year. Fashion month gives you all these new ideas, but the best part is figuring out which ones actually resonate with you. Not every trend needs to make it into your wardrobe, and not every piece needs to be practical to be worth appreciating. Sometimes it's enough to love a collection simply because it made you feel something.
