What I Saw, Wore, and Loved During New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week this September was a whirlwind of shows, street style, and unexpected moments that kept me fully immersed in the experience. Over those days, I experienced everything from bold runway looks to behind-the-scenes glimpses, and along the way, I stepped outside my usual wardrobe choices, like embracing cherry red for fall, which felt fun and different. The things I saw, wore, and loved all centered around the idea of the excitement of discovery. Between catching shows, exploring designer collections, and soaking in the city’s energy, Fashion Week reminded me that style is as much about experimentation as it is about expression. This is something I tried to bring into my looks, which you can explore through my ShopMy collection, linked here.

Keep scrolling for a peek at the highlights from my week! The outfits I wore, the shows I loved, and all the moments that made New York Fashion Week so unforgettable this season.

What I Wore

This season, I stepped a little outside my usual neutrals and leaned into something bolder. My favorite look of the week was this cherry-red pant set from Endless Rose, rented through Rent the Runway. It felt fun, polished, and just different enough to set the tone for fall. I loved how versatile it was, and it carried me seamlessly from shows to evening events, all while making me feel confident and chic. I paired the set with these leopard-print ballet flats from Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn. Originally, I was torn between heels, but I fell for the flats and adored how they grounded the look. To complement the shoes, I added a tan leather shoulder bag, tying the outfit together.

What I Saw

Over the week, I popped into the Tezza Photobooth, played dress up at J.Crew, stopped by the Bronx and Banco showroom for a few days and saw the prettiest moodboard that inspired their latest collection, and made it backstage for the PatBo show, which delivered on glamour and intricate floral detailing. I also attended the Global Fashion Collective shows with my sister, where two designers in particular stood out. Ashlyn So brought a different kind of excitement to the runway with her Recolored collection, a powerful exploration of renewal and identity. Inspired by the vibrancy of coral reefs before mass bleaching, her color choices, fluid draping, and layered textures reflected both fragility and strength. It felt like a visual call to celebrate individuality while protecting what’s most vulnerable, resulting in dresses that carried both beauty and meaning. On another note, Noe Bernaceli presented a womenswear collection steeped in romance and beautiful textures. From sheer lace gowns to pleated capes, each look was a study in elegance with a touch of drama, setting his work apart within the GFC designer lineup. Across the week more broadly, I noticed a few recurring themes on the runway like pops of red, lots of lace, polka dots, headscarves, animal prints, and plenty of rich textures.

What I Loved

While the shows were beautiful, some of my favorite memories also happened behind the scenes. I had the opportunity to work backstage at the Bronx and Banco and PatBo shows, helping dress models, create content, and get a firsthand look at how everything comes together. There’s something energizing about being part of that controlled chaos, and it gave me an even deeper appreciation for the artistry and teamwork behind fashion week. In between, I also leaned on little rituals that kept me balanced. A couple of nights ended with sushi and a pint of Talenti’s Belgian Chocolate gelato over an episode (or two) of Derry Girls or Girlfriends, which for me was the perfect way to wind down after busier days during Fashion Week.
